![]() | Lauded by several prominent theatre critics as one of America’s best stage actresses, Noël Desiato traces her beginnings in the craft to a passion for people watching and an innate ability to interpret the human condition. A New Englander at heart, Noël was born and raised in Bath, Maine a town perhaps better known for its expansive potato farms and shipbuilding prowess than for its theatre alumni. Like so many aspiring performing artists, Noël caught the “stage bug” at an early age, acting in skits with family and friends, and then later auditioning for and winning parts in local high school productions. But the allure of the “Big Stage” was powerful, and Noël soon relocated to New York City to begin her professional career, where she earned small parts in innumerable off-Broadway and off-off-Broadway productions and waited on even more tables. It was also during her tenure in Manhattan that Noël was fortunate enough to study under legendary actress and acting instructor Stella Adler at The Conservatory. Noël’s dramatic talents soon earned her the privilege of membership in New York’s esteemed Potters Field Theatre Company. Noël’s love for the stage made for an easy transition into film and television roles, landing her parts in numerous commercials, independent films and TV shows including a part on ABC’s long-running soap opera, All My Children. International notoriety arrived later when Noël was cast in a feature role in Student Abroad, a Chinese national television mini-series filmed entirely in Ottawa, Canada. Noël also performed in New York’s Play Time Series in the role of Clair in Mel and Clair. She also performed in the role of Lizzie in The Rainmaker in Rock Island, Illinois. Long attracted to the intimacy offered by regional theatre, Noël has won accolades for her work with Connecticut’s Sherman Players in performances such as Reckless, Terra Nova and One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. She has also become a favorite performer at Connecticut’s TheatreWorks New Milford, where she has performed in Holiday Memories, The Laramie Project, Love Letters, Suddenly Last Summer and the lead role in Medea. Her immense talents were most recently showcased again at TheatreWorks in Matthew Lombardo’s award-winning, one-woman tribute to the legendary Katharine Hepburn, Tea at Five. Not one to stray far from her New England roots, Noël currently resides in scenic western Connecticut with her carpenter husband and a small menagerie of loyal, furry friends. The rustic countryside serves as an ideal counterbalance to her hectic lifestyle, while still allowing her to remain in relatively close proximity to the thriving metropolis of Gotham which she adores. | ![]() | Website Design by Crosswind Communications LLC | |||||||||||||
